Awesome Super Talented Friend with Website and a Coupon Code!

I am so excited to get the chance to brag to you about my very dear and talented friend Deena.   🙂  I have been friends with Deena for close to 20 years and I have to say she is one of the most talented, patient, and sweetest people I know….plus she is super nice and really fun to hang out with…

Deena is the creative mind behind the work you’ll see at http://www.deenaziegler.com and her blog, “Be Creative” http://www.deenaziegler.typepad.com.

10 years ago when she was in full stay- at-home mom mode she accepted an invitation to teach card classes. She spent many years teaching and soon started selling her kits online to crafters outside of her teaching area, yes she is THAT good! 🙂

Through her website www.deenaziegler.com Deena offers her card kits as well as many other paper crafting kits, accessories and her favorite card making supplies.

Her card kits are available ala cart or by subscription where you’ll receive a card kit each and every month (with free shipping) as well as a discount to her shop any time you visit. They are perfect for making getting creative easy. 90% of the parts and pieces are cut to size and are easy to put together just by following the color copies provided.

Her goal for www.deenaziegler.com and her blog is to inspire creativity in each person that visits, and is able to do so by offering reasonably priced kits for cards and more, a friendly environment, frequent blog posts and so much more. Cream Cheese Frosting!

I’m ADDICTED to cream cheese frosting.  ADDICTED as in I get up in the middle of the night practically sleep walking down a flight of stairs just to dip a spoon into the delicious sweet stuff…we should not be left alone together, nor do I ever want to have leftover cream cheese frosting in my fridge…way too tempting…(as mentioned above).

Thank goodness that my youngest son also shares the same addiction..see? something besides hair and eye color are also hereditary…so I am not alone.  So,  if I ever make it (and I try to keep this to a mininum), I at least have someone to share it with and I won’t feel as guilty.  Thanks Cole  🙂

I am always baking…..and I love frostings of all kinds, don’t get me wrong, but there is SOMETHING about cream cheese frosting that makes me go BANANAS…and for the longest time, I could not find a recipe for cream cheese frosting that I LOVED… I don’t like mine overly sweet and love it extra creamy and smooth.

After much tweaking and experimenting, I came up with what I think is the best cream cheese frosting…that both my son and I love…

Try it and take it for a spin~

The ingredients are pretty typical of cream cheese frosting, so it’s really all about the proportions.

Beat together the cream cheese, butter, and vanilla extract until it’s light and fluffy. Add the powdered sugar and beat it until it’s light and fluffy.

That’s it..sweet perfection Marcella style..hey, it’s how I roll.  🙂

Enjoy!

My Cream Cheese Frosting Fix Recipe:

Stuff you will need:

2 8 ounce packages of cream cheese (cool, not cold)

1/2 cup butter room temperature (I use unsalted)

2 cups sifted confectionary sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla (use the best kind you can find, I love Madagascar vanilla)

The Drill:

Whip together the cream cheese, butter and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add in the confectionary sugar and whip until smooth and fully incorporated. Ta Da!

Refrigerate (AND in my case, lock up or give away almost immediately, because it won’t last long!)

40th Birthday Party Cake!

One of my dearest friends is turning 40 today…and for his birthday cake, Shana (his wife) wanted to go with a pin-up 50’s girl theme and add a few his favorite foods, pizza and beer!
The little pin-up girlfigure  I made out of gumpaste to looke like her, with a little exaggeration in the bust area and much cuter in real life…  🙂
The cake was a 5 layered chocolate fudge cake with chocolate ganache filling (he loves chocolate) that I covered in black fondant.
I loved making this cake…it was so much fun!
Happy 40th Birthday Rob!
